The plant's growth structure is fairly typical for an annuum, but the leaves have a light purple tinge to them which is extremely attractive. Stems can be dark purple or green with purple streaks.
The flavour is impeccable, the first time I tried these, they gave hints of strawberry. The heat level is sharp, classically annuum. Culinary uses are varied, I would personally use this in place of jalapenos, and they might be nice pickled.
Relatively little is quoted in terms of this pepper's history, but allegedly it stems from a Red UFO. The Red UFO was likely a commercial F1 hybrid and Matthew Arthur stabilised the phenotype we are familiar with today after selecting from F2 seeds.
