One of those derivatives of the infamous Bhut Jolokia x Pimenta da Neyde cross, this pepper serves as another reminder of the cautionary tale of releasing your crosses before they are stable!
The growth habit of this plant is fairly standard of other PDN derived crosses, with a habit of growing tall, large internodal spaces are commonplace. The flowers are beautifully tinged with anthocyanin and the pods are absolutely stunning!
The flavour is pretty decent too, but with a slight floral bitterness. In comparison to other Bhut x PDN accessions, this one is one of the worse tasting options. The Hallows Eve being a much more flavourful alternative.
This pepper was developed in North Queensland, Australia by growers Rebecca Johnston and Trevor Griffiths.
