Description
An heirloom pepper originating from the Bresse region of France, believed to have been brought into France by Spanish traders in the 16th century. This pepper was traditionally used to flavour sauces and local cheeses in its powdered form!
The pepper has an excellent, fresh taste. The heat punches rather hard for its advertised SHU rating of 2500, feeling more like 10000. There is a good level of sweetness but this pepper is more suited to savoury applications like soups, maybe give some of the traditional recipes a try?
The plant is fairly unremarkable, but I noticed that the one I grew in 2023 had dwarflike properties, with a sweeping low canopy, and plenty prolific. These seeds come directly from PhishIsMyChurch's 2022 grow.
