Round dark teardrop shaped fruits will be the talk of your garden, and it's easy to grow!
This plant has an unusual growth habit for a chinense, starting tall, then producing clusters of dark fringed flowers that turn into gorgeous black fruits. To tell if a fruit is ripe, wait until nighttime. A ripe fruit will glow under torchlight.
The flavour of this cultivar is not much to write home about, but we found it palatable. The anthocyanins can make it quite bitter but this bitterness fades when dehydrated and ground into powder!
