Approach this pepper with EXTREME caution. I do not say that lightly! This pepper absolutely destroyed my stomach just minutes after eating it. Now you can't say I didn't warn you!
The plant itself is extremely attractive, almost gothic looking, with almost tubulate striking purple flowers against deep black foliage, this one is for sure a looker all year round! And when the pods start to ripen, dashes of orange really accentuate the autumnal look. The insides of the pods are coated in these awesome purple streaks.
The flavour of the pods is something that will be brief, before the heat batters the taste buds. It's not unpleasant tasting, but it has an almost earthy floralness similar to Bhut Jolokia which may be off putting to some. The heat comes on fast and strong, milder in the mouth, but an intense throat burn and devastating effects on the gastric system.
This is a cross between the MAMP Black and Purple Ghost Scorpion by Jes Christensen.
