This is a cultivar of c. Chinense, widely regarded for its yellow and bumpy appearance, originating from South America. It is a variant of the King Naga pepper.
Beyond its stunning appearance, the Yellow Fever pepper packs a punch in the heat department. It can range from 100,000 to 500,000 SHU or even higher. The flavour profile of these peppers is marked by an intense and searing heat, accompanied by fruity undertones. The initial taste is often described as subtly sweet, but the heat quickly takes centre stage, providing an intense and lingering burn that is not for the faint of heart.
This pepper is very similar to the Fatalii in terms of taste and heat type.
