This pepper is a real beauty. Seeds were originally sent to me from PhishIsMyChurch.
I grew out a plant and I loved it. This has been described to me as a heatless Caribbean style pepper.
The plant grows compact at first but then finds its stride and grows lankier, to the point that I needed to top it twice to stop it growing outside of my windowsill!
For a Chinense, one thing I noticed is that it had a lot of pollen. It has been a very prolific plant for me.
The pods are bonnet shaped and ripen to yellow / orange.
The taste is something that I will cover in more detail - the initial flavour is nothing special, it tastes like a less sweet orange bell pepper. But the aftertaste is heavy with tannins, and it reminds me of drinking a strong black tea, or eating some dried apricots. It is very unique.
