About Us

My background

It's good to meet you! My name is Liam, and I am the owner of Isotope Chillies.
I do not have a horticultural background, my day job is actually in the tech industry, as a software developer.
I hold no degrees or advanced qualifications, but my studies were focused on biology, chemistry, history and information technology.
I live in Stroud in the UK with my fiance and many chilli plants which are slowly taking over our entire house. We are both in our early twenties and still full of life!

About Isotope Chillies

In May 2021, I decided to set up an Instagram page to showcase my chilli plants I was growing. I chose the name Isotope Chillies as the Isotope pseudonym was already one that I was using for my online presence, NervousIsotope.
As time went on, I gradually amassed quite a number of followers on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube as I continued to document my learning and growing journey. I soon noticed that this hobby I had picked up was becoming a major part of my life.
Near the end of 2021, my fiance and I moved into our own property. With it came a lot more space that I could fill with chilli plants. Later that year, energy prices absolutely skyrocketed, but by that point I was already invested and too deep to back down on my indoor operation. That is when I decided to get smart and try and claw back some money to help fund my hobby.
By late 2022 I was starting to break even, from selling chilli seeds. My intention with this hobby was never to make a profit, only to fuel the costs for this hobby, and to allow me to give back to the community without ripping people off. I am thrilled at the success this venture has had so far, and I am really looking forward to what the future will bring.
I have partnered with a couple of growers for 2023, namely CosmosChillies and Tintin's Peppers, who will be sending me some of their seeds for me to sell on their behalf. I personally trust these fine gents wholeheartedly and can speak clearly about the incredible quality of their seeds.

Shipping Information

Currently, Isotope Chillies has the opportunity to send seeds anywhere in the world, for around £4.
For customers within the UK, you can enjoy the benefits of free first class shipping, which will reach you in about 2-3 days.
Unfortunately, for overseas customers, this can vary quite a lot. It doesn't seem to matter where in the world you are, the average is 9 days, but the longest I have heard people waiting is over 1 month. So far, only one package has gone missing in transit, and a few have been returned to me.
As standard, we do not offer tracked delivery at the £4 price point. Our mail service offers tracked international small letters for around £9, so tracked delivery is an extra £5.

Upcoming Content

The best way to keep in contact with me directly, and to see news on what is coming to the shop, is to visit the Pepper Lovers Community Discord server. We are very active in this excellent community of chilli growers. A link to the invite is on the Home Page of this website.
In January 2023, we have been given access to grow on a plot of land locally in a community garden. This should increase the output, but a lot of work has to be done on the land in order to get it into a state that can be grown on. Follow along with the progress on this on Discord and Instagram!
I am expecting to pass my driving test this year, within the next few months. So hopefully that will be just in time to attend a lot of UK Chilli Festivals!
I am continuing to work on the website in the coming months. I am intending to add: Voucher support, FAQs, Reviews, Newsletter, Better Emails, Stock Notifications.
